Vancouver Aquarium

Enter the Vancouver Aquarium and you enter a world underwater. The Vancouver Aquarium does a great job at caring for these underwater creatures and they are dedicated to the conservation of marine life. It's a great place to visit in any type of weather and learn about these amazing creatures.

The Vancouver Aquarium features marine life from a variety of places, from the Amazon to the Arctic to our local BC coast. There aren't just fish inside, like many aquariums, but many other amazing creatures like belugas, dolphins, frogs, and even sloths. Not all the exhibits at the aquarium are underwater. During my time at the aquarium, I got to see the sloth moving around and eating (how lucky I am! They don't usually move around).

Sloth!
Beluga shows, sea otter shows, and films at the 4D theatre in the Vancouver Aquarium are also shown from time to time. While I didn't catch the shows this time, I have in the past and they were pretty awesome. I did go see The Great Salmon Run at the 4D theatre though, which shows the tough journey that salmon go through. In case you didn't know, 4D is where you actually experience some of the effects that happen in the film yourself. For example, water splashes on you when a dolphin splashes into the water in the film. I'm not exactly a fan of the 4D films (scares me sometimes...lol), but it is a cool experience.

Take your time going through the Vancouver Aquarium and read some of the signs about the creatures. You can find out a lot of interesting facts about them and it makes your trip more worthwhile. The employees will also be happy to answer your questions if you have any.
